TERMS AND CONDITIONS  

1. ADMISSION, TICKETS AND REFUNDS  

1.1  In order to facilitate the security, safety and comfort of all guests, the Organisers and Licence Holder reserve the right to refuse admission or evict from site.  

1.2  Upon booking your ticket(s) you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.

1.3  No admission without a valid ticket.  

1.4  All tickets are non-refundable. If the event is canceled before it has started ticket holders will be eligible to apply for a refund to a maximum of the original face value of the tickets. Refunds will be available for a limited time. All ticket holders will be emailed directly by iTICKET with instructions. Receipt of iTICKET emails are the responsibility of the ticket holder.

1.5 We reserve the right to make alterations to the time, date, duration and venue of the festival in the event of unforeseen or other circumstances, including (but without limitation) Force Majeure, pandemic, safety and security concerns or decisions from authorised persons or other competent authority. In the event of such alteration neither we or our official ticket agent will be liable to the Ticket Holder or any other person for any costs, expenses or other losses resulting from such alteration. 

1.5.1 Splore Festival is scheduled to take place at the end of February. Should a postponement be necessary due to circumstances beyond our control, all tickets will be valid for a new postponement date and no refunds will be offered. By purchasing tickets to Splore Festival you acknowledge these terms.

1.6 Unless otherwise agreed at our sole discretion, a ticket will not be exchanged or refunded if:   
a)     after the festival has started, it is stopped for any reason and is not completed;  
b)     on any day of the festival, the start time is delayed for any reason;  
c)     the start time (but not the date) of the festival changes after the date the ticket was purchased;
d)     the ticket is used for entry into the festival.   
e)     you have been refused entry for presenting an Adult or Youth ticket that does not correspond with proof of your actual age. 
f)      you have been evicted for being intoxicated or antisocial behaviour.

1.7  Tickets are in the form of iTICKET ePass (e-ticket)and will be scanned upon entry; once a ticket has been scanned it cannot be used again. Tickets will not be admitted if they can’t be scanned.  

1.8  The first scanned ticket to arrive at the event will be allowed entry; any subsequent ticket with the same ticket number will be denied access. Please treat your ticket as you would cash, the organisers accept no responsibility or liability for any inconvenience caused by the unauthorised duplication of a ticket. Do not post images of your barcode on social media. 

1.9 The name on your ePass ticket must match your ID. After the initial purchase, the ticket can be shared a maximum of two times. If you receive a ticket from a friend, you must ensure that they update the ePass details correctly so that it is transferred into your iTICKET account. Tickets without a genuine name will not be allowed entry.  

1.10  Admission is at the ticket holder’s own risk. The Organisers or venue will not be held liable for any loss, injuries or damages sustained at the event including damage, theft or losses to property and motor vehicles, if the cause is due to the negligence of the ticket holder or the unforeseeable actions of other patrons or third parties.  

1.11 iTICKET is the Splore Festival authorised ticketing partner.  

1.12  Do not buy tickets from other third-party sources, unless that source has been expressly endorsed by Splore Festival and iTICKET, as we cannot ensure these tickets are genuine. Invalid or duplicate tickets will not be allowed entry into the festival site.  

1.13 If the ticket allocation has sold out, a Splore Standby facility will be available, giving potential buyers the opportunity to register their interest in tickets. If availability allows, buyers may be offered tickets to purchase. Due to limited availability there will be no guaranteed Standby sales and in some cases only partial matches may be available.

1.14 Customers may privatly resell, trade, for face value or freely share tickets as long as the ticket is shared using the official iTICKET ePass share facility.

1.15 Tickets may not, without the prior consent of Splore Dynamics Ltd, be resold or traded for profit, (including via online auction sites), or used for advertising, promoting or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services either by the original purchaser or any subsequent ticket holder. If a ticket is offered for sale, sold or otherwise used in breach of this condition, Splore Dynamics Ltd reserves the right to cancel the ticket without, prior warning and no refund given. Tickets bought from non-official websites or other sources may be refused entry. Parties identified to be using Splore tickets in any of the unsanctioned ways described in these terms may be blacklisted from purchasing any Splore tickets in the future.

1.16  In the event of any ticket holders qualifying for a refund, only the face value of the ticket will be refundable. Any additional booking, delivery or any other related fees not part of the ticket face value and any donations or contributions paid as part of a transaction are non-refundable.

1.17  Wristbands removed from the wrist, tampered with, lost or missing will be rendered invalid and will not be replaced. Those without valid wristbands will be removed from the site. All wristbands issued by Splore Festival remain the property of Splore Dynamics LTD until the end of the festival weekend event.  

THURSDAY ENTRY
1.18 A standard  ‘Festival Entry ticket’ is valid from 9am Friday - 4pm Sunday of the festival event weekend.  

1.19 A ‘Festival Entry ticket + Thursday Entry upgrade’ is valid from 2pm Thursday.  

1.20 ‘Thursday Entry upgrade’ tickets are only valid with a standard ‘Festival Entry ticket’.   

1.21 Thursday is a set up day only with minimal entertainment scheduled. Only limited parts of the festival site will be open to the public. The festival beachside entertainment area will remain off limits until Friday 9am.   

1.22 Child and Youth ticket holders do not require a ‘Thursday Entry Upgrade’ as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian who has a valid ‘Thursday Entry Upgrade’ ticket.

1.23 Thursday entry is not available to patrons arriving by boat because the beachside site remains strictly off limits until Friday.  

WAYVER
1.24 All purchases onsite are made using the WAYVER wristband and all users agree to WAYVER general terms of use.

1.25 WAYVER may at its sole discretion offer to refund customers the credit remaining on their wristband after the festival is complete. Customers must apply for the refund before the due date. Customers must provide all necessary information required in the request form. Requests received after the closing date will not be considered.

1.26 The closing date for WAYVER refunds is around 30 days after the end date of the festival and will be published on the Splore website and media channels.

2. GATE SEARCHES AND CONFISCATED ITEMS 

2.1  Splore Festival runs a rigorous car and bag search operation at the gates, and you should expect to be searched on entry. This may include clothing/ personal item/ bag searches at the gates, onsite or when leaving.   

2.2  The Festival has a strict no BYO alcohol policy. Any contraband alcohol found during searches or within the festival grounds will be confiscated.  

2.3  Splore Festival has a No Drugs Policy regarding any illegal drugs listed under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013.  

2.4  Additional prohibited items include: glass bottles, containers and jars (excluding small baby food containers, make-up & small perfume bottles; glass objects (excluding small handheld mirrors); anything considered to be a weapon or potential weapon (including most knives); private sound systems; bean bags; fireworks; explosives; large BBQs; smoke and gas canisters; air horns; flares; Nitrous Oxide canisters and chargers, laser devices; private drones and UAVs; sky lanterns; paraffin lamps, candles, generators, wood chopping or processing tools, chemical toilets (except where fixed within live in vehicles), unofficial hi-visibility clothing, unofficial credentials, spray cans, marker pens.  

2.5 Prescribed medication should be declared before entering the search and entry points. Medicine should be in its original packaging with the ticket holders name listed on the prescription label or the ticket holder must bring a copy of their prescription in their own name.  

2.6 This list is not exhaustive, Splore reserves the right to confiscate any potentially harmful items or substances at our discretion. Please be aware that work tools, ladders, 2-way radios etc can be deemed a potential security breach and Splore reserves the right to confiscate such items on entry to the car parks or festival gates. Please check your vehicle before packing and remove any items that can present a safety or security risk.    

2.6.1 In emergency circumstances such as, but not limited to; lost children, suspected criminal activity, anti social behaviour, contraband concealment, suspected gate crashingSplore Security and Splore Festival management reserve the right to enter any tents, vehicles and trailers with or without the owner’s permission.

2.7 Camping stoves using small, disposable gas canisters are permitted. Please only bring enough for your needs over the weekend. Excessive quantities may be confiscated. In the event of very hot weather / dry ground conditions, we reserve the right to prohibit the use of camping stoves for safety reasons.  

2.8 At the search and entry point, ticket holders will be given the opportunity to give up (AMNESTY) prohibited items in their possession prior to search. Once past the Amnesty area, any person found in possession of a prohibited item may be refused entry or evicted, and will have the item confiscated and not returned.  

2.9 Signs or materials displaying discriminatory, derogatory or offensive messages, slogans or images are not permitted. 

3. AGE POLICY 

3.1 ALL patrons will be required to produce valid identification at the entry gate. If you cannot provide ID that is valid and in-date, you may be refused entry into the festival site.  

3.2 If you are fortunate enough to look under the age of 25, you will be required to provide ID that proves your age. If you cannot provide ID that is valid and in-date, you will be issued an underage wrist band and will not be able to purchase alcohol.  

3.3 Accepted ID is limited to: photographic NZ driving licence, HANZ Kiwi Access Card, or an international passport. Photocopies or digital copies on phones will not be accepted.  

3.4  The event is for adults 18 years or older and their families and has been promoted as such. Patrons under 18 years of age on the date of entry can only enter if they are accompanied by their legal guardian or an appointed accompanying adult over the age of 30 who has permission from the youths legal guardian to accompany them to the event. If you arrive at the gate and are under the age of 18, or fail to provide a valid form of identification listed in 3.3 or are not with a suitable appointed accompanying adult you will be refused entry.  

3.5 Children and Youths are the responsibility of their appointed adult at all times whilst at the festival. Whilst we do not expect older children and teenagers to be with their parent or guardian at all times, we do expect them to camp together, and for the child/teenager to know the location of their adult, and have means of contacting them, or agreed meeting points. Well-behaved children/teenagers are most welcome at Splore, however, we will take action to return teenagers who are considered to be intoxicated, displaying antisocial behaviour or felt to be vulnerable, to their adults, who will be informed that failure to monitor the behaviour and activities of their teens will result in eviction from site, of both themselves and their teen.    

3.6 Unaccompanied teens (aged 13-17) and children (aged 12 and under) will be refused entry at the gates. Accompanying adults must be 30 years old or over, must have completed the online booking form when purchasing tickets, and have bought the teen ticket in advance. Teens must be accompanied by an adult on each occasion they enter and leave the festival.   

3.7 Any unaccompanied child (aged 12 years and under) who is not able to locate or contact their adult will be treated as a found child and reported to Security.  

3.8 Any unaccompanied teen found on site who is unable to identify or locate an appointed adult over the age of 30 years onsite will be reported to Security and steps will be taken to have the youth collected from site.   

3.9 A parent/guardian aged 30 or over can accompany a maximum of 2 teens.  

3.10 Only persons aged 18 or over on their first day of attending Splore may enter the festival using an Adult ticket. Any person under the age of 18 who has purchased an Adult ticket rather than a Youth ticket will be refused entry into the festival and will not be entitled to a refund.  So please ensure the correct ticket is purchased for your age at the time you will be attending the festival.  

3.11 Only persons aged 13-17 on their first day of attending Splore may enter the festival using a Youth ticket. Any person aged 18 or over who has purchased a Youth ticket rather than an Adult ticket will be refused entry into the festival.  

3.12 ID checks will be carried out at the entry gates for anyone who looks under 18 years old.  

3.13 Child ticket holders can only enter the festival with the parent/guardian who purchased their tickets, who is then responsible for them throughout the event. Each parent/guardian may accompany 3 children.   

3.14 Child and Youth ticket holders are permitted entry into all areas of the festival until 11pm. After this time we expect that all children and youth be supervised at their campsite by a responsible adult.  

3.15 No refund will be given to those refused entry for the reason of not being of age or failing to produce a valid form of ID.  

3.16 Guardians are reminded that some areas of the festival, especially immediately in front of the stages, may be inappropriate for small children.  

4. GENERAL 

4.1 The artist and performer line-up and all billed attractions are subject to change at any time without notice.  

4.2 Strictly no trading or other commercial activity by any ticket holder will be allowed on the festival site without the organiser’s prior written consent.  

4.3 Splore accepts no responsibility for goods or services purchased from third party traders.  

4.4 Tickets cannot be used as part of any marketing, media or sales promotion whether commercial or non-commercial without prior written permission of the event organisers.  

4.5 In accordance with regulations, covered stages and other areas of the festival sign-posted as No Smoking areas mean No Smoking. Failure to comply with these regulations and event signage may result in eviction.  

4.6 If you are caught urinating or defecating in places other than a toilet, you run the risk of immediate eviction from the festival site.  

4.7 Please use bins and recycling points provided.  

4.8 Fires are strictly banned. The burning of any materials is not permitted anywhere on the site and will result in eviction and criminal charges being brought against anyone caught doing so. 

4.9 Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone found acting in such a way will be immediately evicted without refund.  

4.10 Strictly no animals (with the exception of assistance dogs) will be allowed on the site.  

4.11 Assistance dogs must be declared in advance to the Splore Festival team via email who, once approved, will provide an authorisation letter to be shown on the search and entry points.  

4.12 Mobility scooters must be declared in advance to the Splore Festival team via email. You will, once approved, be asked to sign a condition of use disclaimer outlining what is expected as safe use of mobility scooters on a busy festival site  

4.13 Warning: exposure to loud and excessive music may be damaging to your hearing.  

4.14 Pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting and special effects may take place during some performances. 

4.15 All attendees on-site must comply with all official directives from crew and security in the event of emergency evacuations or situations.  

4.16 Those believed to be attempting to contravene these regulations, or assist others in breaking these conditions of entry (including admittance of those without valid tickets or wristbands) will be denied access to the site, and referred to the New Zealand Police if required.  

4.17 All attendees on-site must have a valid form of admittance, which must constitute one of the following forms: - Valid attendee wristband accreditation once on-site. - Valid authorised Splore Festival accreditation.  

4.18 Wristbands and other forms of accreditation on-site are designed to be secure and non-removable (without destroying the wristband). Any attempts by attendees to manipulate or interfere with their wristbands will be construed as an attempt to contravene these conditions of entry, and may result in denial of entry or eviction.  

4.19 All attendees must comply with the directives of Festival crew. Failure to do so may result in denial of entry, immediate eviction, or referral to New Zealand police if deemed appropriate.  

4.20 Attempts to damage property of other attendees, Splore Dynamics and our affiliated suppliers or of the Festival site will result in denial of entry, immediate eviction, or referral to New Zealand police if deemed appropriate. Additionally, attempts will be made to recover costs if appropriate.  

4.21 Should there be an emergency requiring individuals to leave the site via vehicle, they will be released from the event on a one way policy.  With any returns only available in accordance with the Splore Festival pass outs policy as outlined in the festival FAQs.

4.22 In line with NZ Government restrictions for events, all attendees (over the age of 12yrs and 3 months) must present a valid Government Vaccine Pass upon entering our venue and have a second form of photo ID available. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a vaccinated guardian.

5. MEDIA POLICY 

5.1 Filming and Photography is allowed throughout the public site for personal use, we ask that you do it respectfully. Photography and filming for commercial purposes can only be undertaken with the prior written approval from Splore Festival.

5.2 As a condition of sale, the ticket holder consents to being filmed, photographed and recorded for television, feature films, radio, webcast and other public broadcast and/or for any video/DVD or by onsite CCTV cameras and recordings for safety and security purposes.    

5.3 Anyone using cameras or video equipment (including all mobile devices) are expected to be courteous to their fellow festival attendees and ask permission before taking any up close shots.  

5.4 Please do not hold up your phones/tablets etc for long periods of a set.  

5.5 If you are found to be using films/photos to make a profit onsite, your equipment may be confiscated and you run the risk of being evicted from the festival immediately.  

5.6 Patron photographs taken at Splore cannot be included in any sponsored programme or in any form of advertising without specific approval.  

5.7 Photography is restricted or prohibited in certain areas: welfare and medical areas, security and police hubs and all backstage areas.  

5.8 By entering the festival area you hereby irrevocably grant to Splore Dynamics Ltd, it’s commercial partners, they’re contractors and agents the right to photograph your image and/or record your image and/or voice, and to own, license, assign and/or use the same (and/or any portion thereof) forever and throughout the world in any manner and/or medium known or hereafter invented. You will not receive any payment for such use and waive any right to bring any action in law or equity against Splore Dynamics Ltd, its parent and related companies, subsidiaries (whether or not wholly-owned), affiliates, divisions, and their past, present and future officers, agents, representatives, employees, successors and assigns for such use.

5.9 Splore Dynamics Ltd will employ the use of UAVs during the festival. By entering this area you are granting permission for these UAVs to operate around and over you in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority rules AC101.

6. CAR PARKING 

6.1 Car parking on site is restricted to those that hold a valid parking pass.  

6.2 Your pass must be ready to produce upon arrival to the festival site.  

6.3 Vehicles are parked entirely at the owners risk.   

6.4 Car parking is not pre-designated and will be allocated on arrival at our discretion.   

6.5 Any vehicle left on site past 9am on the Monday morning following the festival event will be removed.  

6.6  The festival accepts no liability for costs incurred in the process of removal and disposal of vehicles. If a vehicle is stored beyond 9am on the Monday morning following the festival event, to facilitate collection any associated costs will be passed on to the legal owner.  

6.7 In an effort to minimise environmental impact and to reduce the amount of cars on site, please carpool if you can.  

7. LOST PROPERTY

7.1 Lost and Found property is managed on site at the Information points. There are two on site; one next to The Ashby homestead on the beachside, open 9am until 9pm daily and one at Camp Mum’s caravan at Camp HQ on the upper site, also open from 9am until 9pm daily. Please report all lost items here as soon as you can and check here before leaving the site to be reunited with property if found during the event. All found property should be handed in at these Information Points.  

7.2 Lost property will be taken from site and moved to a central Auckland location on Monday following the event.  

7.3 After leaving the site a Lost Items form will be posted on the Splore website to register any lost items. If these have been found you will be contacted to arrange pick up or payment for courier to be reunited with your items, with courier costs starting at $20 per item to cover postage, packaging and recorded delivery.  

7.4 Any found items will be kept by Splore Lost Property for 2 weeks after the festival.  After this point, all items will be donated to charity or disposed of safely/securely. All reasonable efforts will be made to reunite the lost item with its owner before this takes place. 

8. AMENDMENTS

8.0 Splore reserves the right to add to or amend these Terms from time to time. Amendments will take effect when posted on the Splore Festival website. Please check the FAQs section regularly for changes and to ensure you have up to date information as you are bound by these terms and conditions. If you purchase a ticket after any amendments to these Terms, you agree to be bound by the updated version of these Terms.
