Accessibility
We are committed to making Splore Festival as accessible as we can for all Splorers regardless of physical ability.
Our location at Tāpapakanga Regional Park provides a mix of natural and manmade environments. From the stony foreshore, up steep tracks to rolling grassy terraced hills, along gravel trails and relatively flat farmland camping zones; there are a range of access challenges.
To make it a little easier to manage accessibility we offer these camping solutions for people living with disabilities.
Accessible camping and other support is available to Splore ticket holders only.
Accessible Campsites
We have a number of designated campsites available for Splorers living with a permanent disability. These sites are adjacent to Camp HQ, Camp Mum and accessible toilets. Accessible campsites are suitable for most camper vehicles and tents. There is also limited space for some to park a vehicle next to their tent if they require access to their vehicle. Space is strictly limited so we may not be able to accommodate your whole group of friends, but we’ll do our best. If you would like to request one of these sites please complete the Accessibility Request Form below.
These sites are limited and we may not be able to cater to people with temporary impairments such as broken bones, recent injuries and pregnant women. The facilities are for the specific use of customers living with serious or permanent disabilities and we kindly ask that you please respect this. First aid medical and welfare facilities are available to everyone. There will be signed first aid points located at the festival site.
Accessible Toilets
These are found at three locations, Camp HQ, Lower turning circle and at the south end of the beach between Mainstage and the Crystal Palace (Beach stage). These are marked on the festival map. The showers are not wheelchair accessible as they are on the back of a truck which requires a climb up 8 steps.
Shuttles & Old Skool Bus
The Old Skool Bus runs a shuttle service between Camp HQ and the lower entertainment site. If you are not able to travel on this then please talk to Camp Mum at Camp HQ to see if there’s another shuttle option for you. We are not able to offer vehicle access to the lower entertainment site, except in the most extreme cases.
Companion
We understand that equal access can sometimes mean being accompanied by a carer. Thus, we can offer a complimentary carer/companion ticket on an individually assessed basis. Companion tickets are limited and only available to Splorers with acute accessibility challenges.
If you have any further questions or suggestions or if your situation changes, please contact us to correct your details or to cancel your accessible camping request please contact: access@splore.net.
