Matt Liggins & Angus Muir
MAD Studio, a collaboration between Matt Liggins Studio and Angus Muir Design, presents “Color Theory” A large scale installation based on the colour wheel at this year's Splore festival, marking their inaugural collaboration.
Established in 2012, Matt Liggins Studio, led by Professional Teaching Fellow Matt Liggins, is a multidisciplinary practice in architecture, art, and academia. The studio's diverse projects include residential architecture, award-winning installations like Real Pyramid Schemer and Vitruvian Tunnel, and collaborations such as the Christmas Pavilion with Angus Muir Design for Commercial Bay.
Liggins, a Ngati Ruanui member, is an artist exhibiting in Australia and New Zealand. The studio's installations explore identity, culture, religion, and politics, engaging a wider audience. Matt Liggins spoke at Tedx Auckland in 2021 about merging art and architecture.
